Delayed Halloween Movie Marathon Part 1: Rocky Horror Picture Show
Ahhh The Rocky Horror Picture show, a Halloween classic. I have seen it before but this time was pretty different since I was with a friend who has never seen it and I am in this film class. I realized this movie makes little sense but it makes up for that because it is offbeat and has good music. The plot can get rather confusing at times (I had my friend asking me what was happening quite a few times). I found myself asking myself "why" why is this all happening I mean Frank creates a man but happens to be an alien on earth for an unstated reason. Oh well it is still one of my favorite movies.

I've been told it's better to see it on the big screen. It's not just because it's widescreen, but also because of the fans' rituals; they do certain things at certain times.
ReplyDeleteAnd I absolutely LOVE Tim Curry as Frank! His voice is so sensual, and the best part about his role is his confidence. He is in on the joke, and he seduces viewers with a wink of an eye. I know he's supposed to be a creep, but you can't help but love that man.
Yeah I know of the fan rituals (I used to know a couple myself). As for your opinion on Frank I think that is fair hm shame he wasn't in the sequel.

ReplyDeleteI was really happy when Glee had an episode on it because it reminded me to rewatch Rocky Horror (of course the Glee episode was nothing like the original ) (though I still enjoyed the episode).
It's a great film, it almost makes fun of science fiction and is wonderfully crazy and surreal and fun.
Ah that episode was the first time I watched Glee. They really heavily edited the songs but I guess they would have had to. >_>
